Rayon Sports have signed shot stopper Simon Tamale from Ugandan Premier League side Maroons FC.

Tamale had a brilliant season between the posts and he is contending for the player of the season award alongside Vipers SC forward Milton Karisa and Villa SC striker Charles Bbaale.

He is also favorite to win this year’s goalkeeper of the season award as he looks to see off competition from Bright Stars FC goalkeeper Hassan Matovu and Nafian Alionzi from Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).

Tamale has been a sought-after personality from different clubs thanks to his excellent reflexes, acrobatic saves, and command of the penalty area.

Tamale moves to Rayon Sports to give competition to current club number one goalkeeper Adoplhe Hakizimana whose season has been shaped by inconsistencies between the posts.

The lanky custodian started his career at Lungujja Galaxy as a teenager before moving to Police FC.

Rayon Sports continues to reinforce the squad as the club looks forward to having yet another impressive campaign on their return to battling for supremacy at African club football.

The Blues are current Peace Cup holders and will hence represent Rwanda at the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup.
