South Sudan will not participate in this year’s U17 AFCON which starts this April 29 in Algeria.

CAF has decided to exclude the South Sudanese selection. The reason? After the MRI tests carried out by the technical services of the authority, South Sudan had more than 3 ineligible players.

This is a reason for disqualification according to a circular letter of CAF dated April 11.

The group C where Sudan was lodged includes now three selections: Cameroon, Mali and Burkina Faso.

CAN U17: groups after the exclusion of South Sudan
Group A: Algeria, Senegal, Congo and Somalia

Group B: Nigeria, Morocco, South Africa and Zambia

Group C: Cameroon, Mali and Burkina Faso
