Marseille have this afternoon unveiled the signing of Senegalese international forward Iliman Ndiaye from newly-promoted Premier League club Sheffield United.

The 23-year-old is a boyhood OM fan and had previously spent time in the club’s youth academy. Last season, he was the Blades’ top scorer and assister, scoring 14 goals and setting up another 11. Overall, in his two seasons in the senior team he has found the net 22 times in all competitions.

After a long-running transfer saga with various twists, the Ligue 1 side have added another major signing to what has been an impressive summer so far – they have also brought in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ismaïla Sarr, and Renan Lodi.

According to Foot Mercato, the attacker has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with Marseille on completing his medical. He had touched down on Sunday night at the Marignane airport, and was welcomed by a large crowd of local fans.
