Manchester United have wasted no time in searching a replacement for Eriksen as the Red Devils have agreed a last-minute deal with Bayern Munich for the loan of Marcel Sabitzer.

Manchester United have managed to reach an agreement with Bayern Munich for the loan of Marcel Sabitzer until the end of the season without option to buy.

According to reports, the Red Devils reached an agreement quickly as the midfielder reportedly agreed immediately to travel to Manchester to play under Ten Hag.

The Old Trafford side’s move has been prompted mainly by the loss of key midfielder Christian Eriksen, who is likely to be out until May after suffering an ankle injury in the FA Cup win over Reading.

The former Bayern Munich player was caught in the afternoon arriving in England to undergo a medical with the Mancunian club. In this way, the Austrian will help fill the gap left by Eriksen’s absence. In addition, the player will help Ten Hag’s side continue their run of form, which sees them sit fourth in the Premier League on 39 points, level with Newcastle and six points behind runners-up Manchester City.

The 28-year-old playmaker will join his sixth club in his career, having had spells with Admira, Rapid Wien, Salzburg, Leipzig and Bayern Munich. Sabitzer has been capped by Austria and has made 581 official appearances in his playing career, scoring 140 goals and providing 76 assists.
