Leicester City have confirmed Willy Caballero as their new assistant manager.

Caballero, 41, enjoyed a long and successful playing career including spells at Manchester City and Chelsea.

Now he joins Enzo Maresca’s backroom team at the King Power Stadium.

Caballero becomes the fifth addition this offseason following the appointments of Danny Walker, Michele De Bernardin, Marcos Alvarez and Javier Molina Caballero.

The former Argentina international spent three years with Manchester City before four more seasons at Chelsea.

He won the Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup in that time.

Caballero joins from Southampton where he spent the last 18 months.

Leicester, who were relegated from the Premier League on the final day of last season, begin pre-season against Northampton Town on Saturday.

They kick off their Championship campaign against Coventry City on Sunday, August 6.
