Tottenham set aside £68m to sign Dejan Kulusevski and Cristian Romero on permanent transfer deals,

that is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Spurs have set aside £68m to tie both loan stars down with fresh contracts.

Kulusevski joined the North Londoners from Juventus in January on an initial 18-month loan deal.

Romero arrived earlier last summer on loan from Atalanta with the option to buy for £42.5m.

It is understood that there is also a five-year contract already agreed with the centre-back that will become official once his loan turns into a permanent transfer.

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is pleased with both players’ form and appears to have given the board the green light.

Romano tweeted: “Tottenham will sign both Dejan Kulusevski and Cristian Romero on a permanent deal.

“Spurs will invest around €80m total fee for two players who are considered key part of the project for present and future.

“Antonio Conte’s also very happy with Romero and Kulusevski.”

Romero has amassed a total of 30 appearances across all competitions this season despite a series of injury setbacks.

Kulusevski has also been revived at Tottenham since leaving Juve as he has registered three goals and eight assists in 19 matches.

Both players have helped Spurs climb to fourth place in the table and within one game of Champions League football.
