This time it’s official: Angel Di Maria has signed for Juve the Turin club has just published a press release to formalize the news

Juventus Turin has formalized the recruitment of Angel Di Maria (34), at the end of his contract at PSG, where he has filled his list of 18 trophies in seven years and left the memory of a decisive and attractive player despite a complicated final season.

A page turns at PSG. Angel Di Maria (34) leaves the club, free, seven years after his arrival, to join Juventus Turin which formalized his arrival this Friday. The player wanted to continue his career in Europe before considering a return to Rosario, his training club. So he signed a one-year lease.

Ideally, “Fideo” imagined staying at PSG where he had an additional optional year. But the Parisian leaders finally decided to turn the page with the Argentinian, after a complicated last season.

The Argentinian international has paid for the arrival of his compatriot Lionel Messi with less playing time than in previous seasons. Mauricio Pochettino still counted on him by aligning him 30 times for a performance below his standards (4 goals, 8 assists).

Not enough to undermine the player’s credit with the supporters who demanded a tribute in his honor at the Parc des Princes during the last match of the season against Metz. Arrived in 2015 after a season at Manchester United, which he still nightmares, Di Maria quickly felt at home in Paris where he could count on Spanish-speaking teammates.

A record of assists, 18 titles

In seven years, he has enriched his list of 18 trophies, including five titles of champion of France. He left the club with the assist record in its history (113) and a place in the Top 10 top scorers (9th with 92 goals).

He will leave some memorable memories like this frenzied celebration bare-chested and debate on the stand of the Parc des Princes with, below, the Parisian supporters massed around the stadium during the first match behind closed doors because of the covid, in March 2020 one evening of qualification for the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Dortmund (2-0).

A few months later, he had greatly carried PSG to the final by signing a dream semi-final against Leipzig (3-0) with a goal and two assists. He could not do anything, however, in the final against Bayern Munich in the final. In seven years, Di Maria was also one of all the disappointments in the Champions League, the most significant of which was against Barça in 2017 (6-1) where he should have benefited from a penalty. He will leave the memory of a majestic left foot and lethal precision.

He will put him at the service of Juve next season by celebrating his potential goals with a heart formed with his fingers.
