Thiago Silva has urged Neymar to join Chelsea this summer if he opts to leave Paris-Saint Germain.

Neymar, 30, joined the French side back in 2017 from Barcelona in a world-record £200 million deal.

He has been linked with an exit this summer and several clubs, including Chelsea who are looking for new attackers, have been linked with a potential transfer.

But with Mauricio Pochettino departing and Christophe Galtier set to be announced as the Club’s new boss, Neymar’s future in Paris remains uncertain.

It has been reported that he wants to stay at the Parc Des Princes, reports which were backed up by his former agent Wagner Ribeiro.

He provided an update last week insisting the Brazilian wants to win the Champions League with the Ligue 1 side before leaving.

“Neymar has a dream: to win the Champions League with PSG. Despite all the rumours about a possible departure, he is very motivated and will not leave until he has fulfilled his objective.”

But RMC Sport report that Neymar is now considering his future and Chelsea are one of three teams suggested to be able to afford the attacker.

If Neymar were to make the switch to Stamford Bridge, he would join Brazil teammate Thiago Silva in the English capital.

During a sponsor’s event in Recife, Silva spoke with local media, as quoted by Sport Witness, regarding Neymar’s future and urged him to join Chelsea.

He said: “He has to go to Chelsea. If it happens, it will be for the best. He needs no comments… So far, I don’t know anything, but I hope it comes to fruition.”

It would certainly be a blockbuster and marquee signing for the Blues, but would a transfer be financially feasible? Only the club would know.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel previously worked with him during their time together at PSG and was full of praise for Neymar back in 2020.

He said: “There are a lot of words to describe Neymar.

“But the best way of describing him is to watch the games.

“He is very decisive for us, he closes spaces, he defends. He is the leader we hoped for and it’s a really good time for him.

“The challenge is to keep going, to employ the same effort, the way of working and the mindset.

“It is good but it is just the beginning.”

Chelsea have also been heavily linked with a move for Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling, who has been given assurances by Tuchel and a fee could be agreed by the weekend.
