In a column for the Telegraph, Jamie Carragher pointed to the Glazer clan, owners of Manchester United, who are “turning the club into a joke”.

After more than 700 matches played for Liverpool , Jamie Carragher is not the first supporter of Manchester United . But the current situation ended up softening him.

“As bizarre as it may sound, I have real sympathy for Manchester United fans. Liverpool fans have been in this situation, protesting against owners who ‘they didn’t want to, we know how it feels.’

He wrote in a column published on the Telegraph

The former England defender blames the owners of Manchester United, the Glazers , and the club’s choices on the transfer window, moving from one target to another without consistency.

“From De Jong to Rabiot, then Casemiro. They’re all different players, with different qualities and different ages. What’s the plan here? What’s the strategy? It’s embarrassing.”

“Their friends in America must be looking at them and thinking, ‘Wow, what a great business you have there.'”

“You have to be patient and do things right,” adds Carragher. that’s the conclusion, for the former Red, is crystal clear.

“Obviously the Glazers don’t care. Their friends in America must be looking at them and thinking, ‘Wow, what a great business you have there.’ For these people, United must be seen as a sports club somewhere in England, from which the Glazers make millions every year.”

“The club is turning into a joke. And without significant changes at the top, it is difficult to imagine any significant improvement on the ground in the long term.”

Regrets Jamie Carragher.
