Recruited this summer by Dortmund, Sébastien Haller will now have to undergo treatment. During a press conference this Wednesday, Sebastian Kehl, the sporting director of Borussia, gave the news:
“The therapy is currently being discussed. There are several options. Sébastien will be absent for a few months but as soon as we can be more specific about it, we will communicate it.”
According to Sébastien Kehl, Sébastien Haller is keeping his spirits up despite his illness, with the hope of being able to return to the field quickly. Since the news broke, the former Ajax Amsterdam player has received support from the footballing world, moved by his situation. This summer, Dortmund signed the striker for more than 30 million euros.
Borussia Dortmund will play a German Cup match this Friday, against Munich 1860. The first day of the Bundesliga will take place on August 6, with the reception of Bayer Leverkusen. Under contract until 2026 with his new club, Haller could nevertheless be replaced during his unavailability.
