Racist insults towards Kylian Mbappé after France-Switzerland: Six months in prison required.

The young man who uttered racist insults against Mbappé after his missed shot on goal against Switzerland at the Euro last June; could be sentenced to six months in prison.

Karim C, who confessed to having uttered racist insults against Kylian Mbappé after his missed shot on goal against Switzerland (3-3, 4 tab 5) on June 28, 2021, appeared this Wednesday before the Paris court, after a complaint from PSG star. Six months in prison were required against this 19-year-old student, who was neither present nor represented in court. The latter will make his decision on September 8.

The young man was tried for racist insult, incitement to racial hatred and identity theft and risked up to a year in prison for this tweet published under a pseudonym, via an account illustrated by the portrait of a third party.

“This dirty nigger deserves to take a hundred lashes and be sold in Libya” , was it written on this message broadcast on social networks. The Pharos platform had been alerted in the following days for messages targeting several players from the France team and an investigation had been opened. Kylian Mbappé had filed a complaint but he did not come to the Paris Criminal Court on Wednesday.
