Just a month after surgery on his right knee, Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba (29) has returned to group training with just over a month until the start of the World Cup in Qatar.

Pogba was reportedly initially against having surgery, favoring alternative treatments that he believed gave him a better chance of participating in the upcoming World Cup. However, after feeling discomfort in his knee during a mundane training session, the French international opted for surgery, which threw his World Cup aspirations into doubt. ‘

Now, just over a month until the beginning of the World Cup, which for France begins on 22nd November against Australia, Pogba has made the crucial step of returning to first-team training. According to L’Équipe, he partially took part in Tuesday’s session with Juventus. His return is in line with his set objectives in order to be fit for the World Cup.

Pogba now hopes to be fit enough to feature for Juventus at the start of November. Juventus will welcome Paris Saint-Germain for a Champions League tie on 2nd November, whilst Didier Deschamps is set to announce his France squad on 9th November. His midfield partner during the last World Cup, N’Golo Kanté, is set to miss the tournament through injury.
