For the second straight year, the Phoenix Suns’ season has ended at home in an elimination game in the Western Conference semifinals.

And for the second straight year, it wasn’t really close.

The Suns were routed by the Nuggets in Game 6 of their NBA Playoffs series 125-100 on Thursday night at Footprint Center, losing the postseason series, 4-2.

Phoenix lost to the Dallas Mavericks in embarrassing fashion in Game 7 of the second round of the NBA Playoffs last season.

The Nuggets had a 30-point lead at halftime over the Suns and led by as many as 32 points in the game.

Nikola Jokic had 32 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds for the Nuggets, who also go5t 26 from Jamal Murray and 21 from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

The Suns were led by Cameron Payne’s 31 points. Kevin Durant had 23 points and Devin Booker only had 12.

It’s going to be an offseason full of questions for the Suns, who have a new owner and very high expectations.

Losing to the Nuggets in six games in the Western Conference semifinals doesn’t meet those expectations.
