Manchester United are expected to part ways with club captain Harry Maguire at the end of the season.

Manchester United are reportedly ‘very seriously’ considering splashing the cash to sign Napoli star Kim Min-jae this summer. Erik ten Hag is keen to acquire another option in central defence when the season concludes, unhappy with the current crop of stars he has in that department.

The Red Devils have relied heavily on the defensive partnership of Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane this season, with the duo providing a strong foundation for the team to build from.

However, the pair have missed significant parts of the season through injury, leaving Ten Hag scratching his head at the lack of depth he has to call upon. Instead of bringing Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof into his starting eleven regularly, the former Ajax boss has favoured playing left-back Luke Shaw in a more central role.

Though the England international is not cited as a long-term solution to the problem, and the likely sale of Maguire has prompted United to prepare themselves to dip into the transfer market. According to Corriere dello Sport, United are ‘determined’ to sign Napoli’s Min-jae at the end of the season, amid interest from other top European sides.
