Robert Lewandowski (33) joined his new teammates at FC Barcelona on Sunday. The club released a video of him being welcomed into the group at a dinner party.

Robert Lewandowski (33) is not yet officially an FC Barcelona player . But he has already joined his teammates on their Miami tour. If Barça and Bayern Munich have announced that they have reached an agreement for the transfer of the Polish striker, the latter must still sign his contract after having passed his medical examination on Monday. In the meantime, he has already been able to greet his future teammates, as illustrated by a club video posted on his social networks.

Lewandowski arrived when the Catalan players were having dinner. He greeted them one by one with a clap in the hand and a hug for each one. Jordi Alba, one of the group’s captains, asked him how he was while Ousmane Dembélé moved towards the striker to welcome him. The two men will be able to discuss their memory of Borussia Dortmund where they both played, but at two different periods (2010-2014 for Lewandowski, 2016-2017 for Dembélé).

Lewandowski then went around the tables in great silence even if the scene broadcast by Barcelona only lasts about ten seconds. The Polish international had reached Miami moments earlier after a ten-hour flight from Madrid where he had stopped after leaving his vacation spot in Ibiza. He was received by members of the club before going to the team hotel.

He must now pass his medical examination Monday morning (in the afternoon in France) before signing his three-year contract, plus an optional year. He could even take part in his first scheduled training session at the end of the day but should not play the friendly match against Inter Miami.

The amount of the operation will amount to 45 million euros, plus five bonuses for the player who had only one year left on his contract at Bayern Munich. He scored 344 goals there in eight years. This weekend, he promised to come back to say goodbye to all the club staff before opening a new page in his rich career.
