The IFFHS, the International Federation of Football History and Statistics, has released its latest ranking of the world’s best clubs. Real Madrid is in first place in the monthly ranking. The best placed African club is Al Ahly of Egypt who are ranked 5th. This is probably due to their last CAF Champions League final and semi-final at the Club World Cup. The second African club is Wydad AC of Casablanca who are ranked 30th in the world. Rounding out the African podium is Zamalek SC in 47th place.
