Members of the Central Bank of Argentina are now studying a proposal to issue a commemorative banknote for the national team Lionel Messi on the Argentine peso after winning the 2022 World Cup.

The proposal that won the most followers is the one that seeks that the paper money of that nation bear the face of Lionel Messi, specifically the 1000 pesos so that the number coincides with the number 10 that the soccer player wears on his shirt.

Headed by its president Miguel Pesce, the name of Lionel Messi was mentioned in the conversation with the authorities, as there is a proposal to create a ticket in homage to the number 10 of the national team.

The authorities of the Central Bank in Argentine are convinced that the collecting spirit of millions of Argentine fans would be awakened if the issuance of a commemorative banknote for the national team is approved.

The Argentine national team became the fourth most crowned World Cup title with 3 titles, and the Brazilian national team has the record with 5 titles.

According to El Financiero newspaper, officials at the South American country’s financial governing body are looking at options to mark their nation’s historic World Cup triumph.

Having a snap of Messi’s mug on the grand bill is said to be a preferred option as the figure begins with a “10” – the shirt number worn by the GOAT. And on the back of the proposed bit of dosh it has been suggested that “La Scaloneta” – the nickname of Argentine boss Lionel Scaloni – will be inscribed. This will be to honour his feats of winning the 2021 Copa America, the Finalissima against Euros champions Italy and victory in Qatar.

Argentina’s Central Bank introduced commercial coins to commemorate the country’s first of their three World Cup triumphs back in 1978.
