After injuries of goalkeeper Alisson and Jota, Liverpool lose another player

Crushed by Manchester United at the start of the week, Liverpool recovered well by dominating Crystal Palace 2-0 in a warm-up match on Friday in Singapore. But the Reds lost Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to injury.

A somewhat bitter victory for the Reds. Liverpool beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in a friendly in Singapore on Friday, a success marred by injury to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain which has coach Jürgen Klopp worried . Jordan Henderson (12th) and Mohamed Salah (46th) were the goalscorers of the day in a packed National Stadium but the Reds are now concerned about injuries to several of their key players as they approach the start of the Premier season League.

Goalkeeper Alisson and striker Diogo Jota were unable to play due to physical problems and midfielder Oxlade-Chamberlain had to be replaced shortly before half-time on Friday, presumably with a thigh injury. Bad luck for the England international who has never been spared from injury since joining the Reds in 2017.

“It’s really infuriating because he had trained very well since the restart,”

“We have had a worse situation but it is obvious that it is a first class player” who is affected.

Said Klopp.

Despite the physical problems, the German technician was able to rejoice in the reaction of his team after the heavy defeat against Manchester United (4-0) in the previous friendly match, in Bangkok earlier this week. Liverpool will continue their string of friendlies in Germany and Austria, while Crystal Palace travel to Australia to meet Manchester United in Melbourne and Leeds United in Perth next week.
